US Country Music

My first articles featured Canadian Country Music back in 1991. Til today I conducted around 200 live-interviews with stars of country music, wrote dozens of portraits and reviewed countless CDs.

Regular publishers are Country Style, the one and only monthly Country Lifestyle magazine in Switzerland and Germany's leading online news site for Country Music and related activities..

I am hosting a weekly Texas Music show on Country Radio Switzerland, the first and only 24/7 country station in Switzerland. This work won me the "Palmwood Award" in 2013 by the organization below:

My major focus is on Texas Musicians. These folks are less following commercial trends and play straight forward, honest country music. They deserve your attention just as much as the big Nashville acts.

We first got hooked on Country Music in 1976 at a concert performed in Zurich by the Man In Black, Johnny Cash.

I'm with the Texas Country Music Association and the CMA, as well as the Heart of Texas Country Music Association and the Academy of Texas Music.

I was also serving the Country Music Club of Switzerland as Vice President (1991-1993) and President (1993-1997) and am a Honorary Member since.

Tips for US Trips

To us traveling the US means getting to know people. It's not the destination that counts - it's the journey.

In the last two decades, we traveled West to East, North to South, and clearly we spent a lot of time in Texas until we finally relocated there in 2008.

One focus we had during our travels was Route 66, The Mother Road. Unlike the standard tourist trips, which take some 2-3 weeks for the entire 2'448 mile stretch from Chicago to L.A., we took our time and spent some twelve weeks on the road. We talked to the people and learned about the history of the road and it's icons.

So if you plan to travel The Road, if you need tips on what to see or where to stay, we are glad to help you with information. Some of our tours can be found on this website.
