The talented songwriter and singer Dean Crawford has done it again. His latest album, Who I Am, promotes sixteen tracks. Except two, penned by Townes Van Zandt and Rocker Moon Martin, all songs are written by Dean, a couple with his songwriter pal Garrick Alden.

Listening to the slow dance tracks, I like Come Home My Child and Without You. Right from the start when playing the title track Who I Am, you will know that Crawford has not lost his preference for traditional Country Songs. This tune together with Cowboy’s Love are my favorites.

The singer does understand how to authentically render standard tunes and still stamp them with his personality, such as in Pancho And Lefty.

With Who I Am, Dean Crawford provides another proof of his talent as songwriter and performer. I am convinced that his music will increasingly be noticed outside his home state Maryland. Looking at his current show dates at the time of this review (early February), his calendar fills up quickly with some 50 dates already booked for the year.
