Rural Rhythm Records has contracted with a singer/songwriter, who has earned many accolades with his versatile songwriting and his distinctive voice.

One has no problem to imagine Mason Douglas growing up listening to his parents record collection, containing several albums of Chris LeDoux. A track such as Big Bad Wolf recalls this Rodeo and Music legend in the listener’s mind.

Douglas was raised in Tucson, AZ, knowing the country- and ranch life from experience. After publishing his debut Calling My Name, he sweetened the wait til his current My Wild Heart release by producing two in between albums with the meaningful title In The Meantime (Vol. 1 and 2).

Mason has written or co-penned most of the eleven tracks on this album of many styles. The listener can enjoy Country Rock on My Wild Heart, or more quietly performed songs such as People Fall In Love or Hesitate. Douglas also presents a touch of Mexican Lifestyle with Trabajo Manana (Fiesta Today), which, by the way, is my favorite on this album. Ballad-like tracks such as Goodbye Woman make this roundtrip of styles complete.

A very versatile album showing all the capabilities of Mason Douglas.
