She's from the only official bilingual province in Canada: New Brunswick. There, in the little town of Sackville, Anne Kay was enjoying her school years. But equally important to her was the membership in the local choir during all of her educational years. So it does not surprise anyone that she later chose to follow a career as a singer.

Anne is presenting mostly slow and calm songs on her first CD. Beer Bottle Brown, the third track on the album, gets me to listen closer. Here comes a voice with potential to success. The other songs like It's Not What You Do or Never Mine To Lose sure sound nice but to me it's clear that Anne's voice is made for more rocky and uptempo tunes.

Even though this album does not contain more of the likes of Beer Bottle Brown, this may change with her next production, provided that the fans react similar to me. It would sure be interesting to listen to Anne Kay doing some more of the uptempo honky tonk tunes.
