Back in 1991, when I wrote my first article on Michelle Wright, I was already thrilled by her voice and diversity.
Michelle is one of the most successful artists in Canadian Country Music with more than thirty awards and more than twenty Top Ten Hits on the Radio. She was also very successful in the US during the 90’s. It took more than ten years until Michelle presented her fans with a new album (not counting the Christmas- and the Greatest Hits projects). With Everything And More the waiting has come to an end.

Tony Haselden who contributed already to Michelle’s earlier albums has again penned a number of songs together with some of his well known friends from the Nashville songwriter community. And for two tracks, Michelle has contributed her part, too. Her diversity is showing in such contrasting songs like Dance In The Boat and – my favorite – I Don’t Wanna Be That Strong. A Bluegrass Intro comes along with I’ve Forgotten You. The emotional contradiction between family and career is the topic of Love Me Anyway.

Michelle’s version of the Joe Diffie hit My Give A Damn’s Busted, which was already covered by Jo Dee Messina, is also quite a treat. I just hope it doesn’t take another ten years until Michelle is publishing her next project.
