Also here in Switzerland it is a well known fact that the Netherlands have a great Country Music scene. But sometimes I am getting productions from this country, which still make me stop and listen twice. Such an example is Home Is Where My Heart Is by the group Change Of Key.

They proof their skills on fourteen, self-penned songs and Marijke DeJong, Danielle Poot and Joop DeJong are something to hear. Traditionally instrumented and calmly presented, some of these songs do not have to hide at all from well known US productions.

My favorites are I'll Regret In The Morning and Frozen Tears. The stories tell from everyday life and the group does not hesitate to touch such sensitive topics as domestic violence. Sometimes it takes forever until one partner has the guts to leave the other. Goes to proof that sometimes relations work out, too, like in the song Look At This Couple.

An additional benefit of this CD is that the band did not let them get infected with the so called promising "country"sound of these days. Change Of Key are putting more their emphasis on musical and vocal excellence and, yes, you still can win honors with such a focus: Their recent two nominations at the Dutch Country Awards, for example.
