A guy who starts to write songs at the age of 45 and who commits his heart and soul to traditional Country Music is creating songs which convey experience of life and he is wise enough to add a few of these old traditionals to make sure they won't be forgotten.

David Cline has done exactly the above on his 2004 album Good Ole Country Music & Western Swing. Beside six of his own songs there are four well known traditionals. It's Only Make Believe by Conway Twitty dates back to 1958 and is still an awesome song. The same goes for He'll Have To Go, which was written by Audrey and Joe Allison and a gold-hit for Jim Reeves back in 1959.

If people from the audience - like David explains in the title track Good Ole Country Music & Western Swing - congratulate the artist for playing the old songs and keeping them alive, then you know that this kind of music ain't dead yet - whatever else program directors of radio stations may think.

Daddy I Understand reminds me of old Red Sovine songs. The daughter signals to her dad, that she understands that he's seldom being home, just knowing that it won't be long until he's trucking on again. The woman shows her man his boundaries in She's Drawin' The Line. And there's that honkytonk feelin' again listening to Gonna Try To Get High.
