When I first met Stacie Collins at a concert, I had a spontaneous mindflash of a mix of Danni Leigh and Lynyrd Skynyrd: Southern Rock combined with an energy-filled stage presence of a young, good looking artist. After quite some time of planning and scheduling, finally Stacie's second album, The Lucky Spot, is available now at REV Records.

Stacie co-wrote all songs together with her bass player and on some of the songs, additional songwriters lended their talent. Beside driving southern rock titles such as It Ain't Love or Long Gone there are also smashing ballads like the title track The Lucky Spot - at the same time my favorite. But Stacie goes to proof that she's equally talented in performing the soul or blues side of things. Just listen to Sorryville or Never Ever.

While Stacie Collins is providing a great overview of her vocal talents on this CD, I can only recommend to everyone who wants to enforce this experience a visit to one of her live performances. She will be back in Switzerland next year.
