Confusion. Did the late and great Buck Owens, who passed away in March 2006, just publish a new album? Of course not, but the Derailers are providing such an authentic sound that you could indeed be trapped in this thought. Owen's Bakersfield Sound was always a signature sound of the Derailers and which has luckily not changed a bit since their debut album Jackpot back in 1996.

Brian Hofeldt and his musicians give a revival to some of the greatest Buck Owens hits. At the same time they show with Under The Influence Of Buck, that nothing which has left the factory of the big record labels of Country Music ever since is giving you that specific shiver when listening to these songs.

Mostly #1 hits from Buck Owens are represented on this album. Exceptions are Foolin' Around and Under The Influence Of Love, which both made it to #2 back in 1961 and Big In Vegas, which "only" hit #5 in 1969. At that time it was a privilege of the Beatles and the likes to have both sides of a single becoming number ones. However, also Owens managed to do this several times. So happened with My Heart Skips A Beat / Together Again, which made it in February 1964, just like I've Got A Tiger By The Tail / Together Again did it the same year in December.
