All fans of traditional Country Music listen up! Here comes a duet album the likes of which hasn’t been seen for a very long time. Texas Singer/Songwriter/Producer Justin Trevino has teamed up with his longtime singing partner Amber Digby to record fourteen songs in the style of those exceptional 1960’s/1970’s duet greats, such as Loretta Lynn/Conway Twitty, Tammy Wynette/George Jones or Dolly Parton/Porter Wagoner. They all would would praise the work Amber and Justin did on this album.
The project named Keeping Up Appearances offers cover versions of the songs which made us hardcore country fans daydream back then. And listening to Amber and Justin’s rendition keeps you daydreaming even today and makes you wonder, why such great music has no longer it's place in today’s mainstream business. It’s clear that this album was made mainly for the love of the music and less with commercial top-ratings in mind.
From the first to the last track, the listener remains glued to the speakers of the stereo and it’s hard to favor a song. If I have to, let me mention Keeping Up Appearances (Lynn Anderson and Jerry Lane, 1967), Right Combination (Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, 1971), Wrong Company (Wynn Stewart and Jan Howard, 1960) or Flame In My Heart (George Jones and Virginia Spurlock, 1961).
As mentioned in the introduction, lovers of traditional duets from that Golden Era will have a hard time quit listening to this album. All others will realize what country music should be all about.
