Usually I don't do single reviews. However, Charming Billy - Billy The Kid is somewhat special. Singer/Songwriter/Label Owner Frank Fara from Arizona invested a lot of research to make the song as authentic as possible. He came so close, that the Billy-The-Kid Museum in Ft. Sumner, NM, selected it as the theme song for their visitors. Frank's wife and partner, Patty Parker, lends her voice to the opening line and chorus.

Whoever has been to the museum, can well imagine that this song matches the stories you read and exhibits you see at this place. The museum depicts the story of Billy The Kid from his beginnings until his early death at the age of 21 in Fr. Sumner on July 14, 1881.

Fara recorded the song in Nashville and selected several great session musicians. Sonny Garrish, who appears on countless productions with his steel guitar or dobro, Fiddler Hank Singer, who plays in the same league, Guitarist Mike Severs, who appeared on Eric Church's latest album Carolina or producer/guitarist Pete Bordonali, who played for George Strait or Lee Greenwood.

A true masterpiece of songwriting that will get it's place in the history books of western music.

Charming Billy - Billy The Kid can be purchased on Apple i-Tunes Europe, Australia and USA.
