Haddock from Dallas, Texas, had a successful career in the Telecoms industry.
But since she first took the microphone at her friend's wedding, she was looking
for a valve for her musical pressure. She found it in two companions, the
Canadian Dalene Richelle and the Texan Karol Ann DeLong and the trio founded
the group Lantana.
Their
debut album is called Unbridled and the three attractive ladies were
so convincing that even the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville wanted
to see them on stage. Despite the modern song arrangements, you can still
hear a fair share of Country, in No Trespassin' for example. The
song tells a lover that without his heart being in it, there's nothin' going.
In a more bluegrassy style comes The Juice Ain't Worth The Squeeze.
The
first single release of the 13-track album is called Country As A City
Girl Can Be and shows to the point that the trio understands the mix
of modern sound with traditional elements. In Let Somebody Love You,
they also show proof that ballads are no stranger to them. Some of my favorites,
however, are titles such as Savin' It Up For Saturday Night or Feel
Like Rockin' Tonight.
So
here's an all-girl-band of which we sure will hear more in case they manage
to survive in the jungle of today's music industry. www.lantanamusic.com
