Country Music, and above all, George Jones, were long in the heart of Robert Bo McGuire from Ohio. He performed with his brother and sister before finally getting a record deal with KMA records, where Keith Bradford took care of Bo's musical career. The Promise is the first outflow of this cooperation.

It is indeed traditional country and a more than welcome change to today's mainstream material. As usual, these artists and producers know that they will hardly get world-fame status by sticking to the roots. However, there are still millions fans out there who appreciate that this kind of music is still around.

In the opener, Nashville, Tennessee, as well as in the other songs you can hear a slight touch in Bo's voice, telling you who his idol in the music business is. Stan Lane and Randy Albright were the main contributors for songs on this production. My favorites are the title track The Promise and More Haggard Than Merle.

Enjoy each and every song of this CD and look forward to the next release of this authentic singer from Ohio.
