Angels & Outlaws is the new production that Abilene born Aaron Watson publishes under his independent Big Label Records. No doubt that also these fifteen songs are typical "Watson" songs. Honky Tonk Sound at it's best mixed with great lyrics where some make you smile and some make you think, presented with a notable fun to play and expert vocal skills. Most of the songs are again writtten or cowritten by Watson. A famous line of guests help out like Kevin Fowler, Billy Joe Shaver, Jack Ingram, Roger Creager or Ray Benson.

Wake Up And Smell The Coffee - one of my favorites - is an uptempo song, which fits seamlessly to other tracks of best dancehall quality. Even faster is Breaker Breaker One Nine, which will make your feet overspeeding on the dancefloor. A quiet opposite is experienced in Can't Be A Cowboy Forever or Sweet Contradiction. A fair share of Texas' elite singer / songwriters is coming together on That's What I Like About A Country Song (names see above). Some minutes of peaceful soul searching can be enjoyed with Billy Joe Shaver reciting Philippians 3:12-14 followed by Watson's Barbed Wire Halo.

Among the hundreds of marketing driven CDs that are thrown on the market these days, Watson's new production is a real enjoyment of good, solid Country Music.
